Strath U13 girls travelled to Victor Harbor Sunday to take on the combined might of Victor, Mt Compass and Yankalilla. Strath and most of Yank combined, playing full ground against Mt Compass, a couple of Yanks best players and a numerous and keen but inexperienced Victor side.
The Strath/Yank side dominated the game with a “break-out game” by our Captain for the day Zoe; she played her best game for the season, gathering plenty of hard balls and continually pushing the ball into our forward lines. Marley gets better every week and was all over the ball across the ground. Charlotte C continued with her weekly dose of “leather poisoning” and with her kicking improving is an attacking machine! It was also great to see first gamer Alea out having a run enjoying being part of the team as well.
Due to the unevenness of the game most girls played half the game in defense and half in attack so all had a decent run today.
Well done to the 4 girls – Romany, Zinta, Lily and Charlotte C – who also played with the U16’s in the early game and then backed up for another 4 quarters.
I can’t believe it but we only have 2 U13 games left….so get along to training and let’s finish the season off strong.
