Strath U13 girls travelled to an overcast and wet Mt Compass on Sunday. We were down a couple of key position players so joined with most of Mt Compass against a full strength Willunga side.
A number of our players stepped up and took on key positions they wouldn’t normally play – with great results. Jorja played a solid game as one of the key back line players. Lily took on CHF and arguably Willunga’s best player – like most of our girls giving away height and size – and played her best game in just her 2nd year playing footy. Zinta played in Ruck most of the game and toiled hard all day. Romany was busy all day in defense laying numerous tackles and also had a quarter in Ruck. As usual Charlotte C and Millie played solid games both getting heaps of touches.
After 4 solid quarters we recorded our first “loss” for the season…. the good news is we get another crack at Willunga next weekend when we play virtually the same team again.
The girls are primed to reverse the result!
