Consistency is key for Grant

The ever reliable Tessa Grant this week plays her 50th game for the club.

A highly talented sportswomen Tessa has excelled on the soccer pitch, the Gaelic football field, the basketball and tennis courts, she can now add a 50 game footballer to her impressive resume.

An inaugural member of the Lady Roosters, Grant made immediate impact in the side and is a major catalyst for our success. She is a three time premiership player at the club and has been named in the leadership squad in each of her 5 years.

Her kicking is her major strength, coupled with strong marking skills and has the ability to change direction on a dime.

Possessing a knack for reading the play and getting herself into the right spots Grant moved from a crafty forward to an elite defender before finding her spot in the very strong Rooster midfield.

Grant’s stellar play resulted in her playing SANFLW football for Woodville / West Torrens before deciding to return to the Roosters.

Tessa is a best and fairest winner at the club and has finished in the top 3 in each season thus far. Grant can be counted on each and every week to play her role with damaging impact to the opposition.

Grant has been a member of both GSFLW winning association sides as well as both Southern Districts sides, being named in the inaugural Team of the Championships side in 2018 with Southern finishing runners up, and being a member of the winning 2019 Southern District team.

Tessa Grant will go down as one of the best female footballers to play at Strathalbyn. Her commitment, leadership and conduct is of the highest standard and we believe as long as Tessa is lining up for us, the red and white are in good stead.

Congratulations Tessa.
