Congratulations to Jaymie Hammond who this week will notch her 50th appearance for the club.
The triple premiership players has been on deck since day one and assisted in getting female football up and running at the club.
Hammond is not your typical player, she loves the tough in and under stuff and puts her body on the line each and every game.
She goes about her business quietly, one tackle at a time and has developed her outside game and has the ability to hurt the opposition with her disposal.
Jaymie has served as vice captain for the club and has been the recipient of the clubs most courageous award as well as the most improved trophy after moving into the midfield in 2019.
Hammond started her football career in the HFL playing colts against the boys before she was unable to continue due to her age. She spent time with the Mt.Barker women’s side before making the move to Strathalbyn to be a part of something new and exciting.
Former coach Darcy Springhall spoke of Hammond as “someone who puts her head down and just gets the job done”. “Jaymie is a hard worker, she possesses huge amounts of talent, I don’t even think she knows how far she can go”.
We congratulate Jaymie for being the first female footballer to reach 50 games for the club and look forward to seeing the number 13 at the bottom of the pack for years to come.
