Mr. R.G. (George) McFEE

George joined the SFC when he became a Colts Committeeman in 1974, taking on the role of Junior Colts Team Manager.

He was SFC Colts Committee President from 1975 to 1978.

In 1975 he was elected to the SFC Management committee and continued until 1983.

He was coach of the SFC Senior Colts premiership team in 1976.

In 1978 he was the successful coach of the GSFL Croser Shield team.

From 1978 to 1982 he shared the onerous SFC Bar Manager role with Reg Norton.

During his time on the SFC committee he very capably filled the role as a Delegate to the GSFL, a role he much enjoyed.

In 1980 and 1981 he was elected as Junior Vice President of the GSFL and then was elected as Senior Vice President in 1982 and 1983.

He was elected as President of the GSFL in 1984 and continued in that role until 2002, a total of 18 years continuously, in itself a remarkable effort.

George was awarded GSFL Life Membership in 1987.

George returned to the SFC following his GSFL term in office, being elected as committeeman in 2003 / 2004 and was responsible, amongst other things, for the installation of the seating in front of the clubrooms.

George passed away suddenly, on the 2nd July 2004, with his funeral service being conducted in the SFC clubrooms where he had given great service.
