Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, indie rock three-piece Busseys are setting themselves up for a breakout year in 2020. After selling out pre-sale their debut headline gig at hometown venue Rocket Bar, the group are ready to propel themselves further with debut EP Pyjama Party.

Their first release ‘Crystal Gazer’ quickly gained a following in Adelaide, helping them share the stage with Aussie acts such as Spacey Jane (WA), British India (VIC), Mosquito Coast (WA), and the Montreals (SA). This success also secured them a support slot with Aussie favourites Lime Cordiale (NSW) for three consecutive sold out shows.

Their latest two singles ‘Lazy’ and ‘Looney’ have displayed the group’s versatility and extended their fan-base. These releases paved the way for their first interstate shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Their debut EP Pyjama Party is just that – dynamic, vibrant and jam packed with personality. The group has found their voice in this project, through fun, energetic tracks such as ‘Straw Castles’ and ‘Red’, and heartfelt anthems like ‘Better Than Nothing’. The group leave you throwing your arms in the air, screaming the words back at them.

Under 13 Report

Strathalbyn U13 Girls travelled to Goolwa on Sunday for what was the toughest game they have faced for the year. Our 15 girls joined with 7 from Yank, playing against a strong Willunga side of 19 with an extra 4 Yank players. We played the full ground with a few extras in each zone.

The Willunga side had some taller and stronger girls who attacked the ball hard; our back lines were under a lot of pressure early but Willunga’s in-accuracy meant we were still well in the game. We kept on applying strong tackling pressure and with some excellent linking plays down the ground got ourselves on the scoreboard.

The Strath/Yank girls put in a great 4 quarter effort across the ground and I believe we came away with a close win after 2 last quarter goals. A couple of special mentions to Ayla McLean on her first game in the Red and White and our Captain for the day, first year player Michaela Reed who has been working really hard at training; her skills have greatly improved over the season.

You’re invited to come to the SFC Rodeo! Our first home game for the year V Yankalilla FC.

Come dressed in your best country and western fancy dress gear and ride the mechanical bull. Prizes for the longest ride and most spectacular dismount.

The music will be set to country and western only and we will crack out some socially distanced line dancing. (1.5m spacing!)

Dinners and presentations from 6pm and mechanical bull action from 8pm.

See you there partner!
