Girls and Boys Auskick is back in Strathalbyn in Term 2, starting Friday 30 April.

5-12 years of age. 4:30-5:30pm every Fridays.

We have a dedicated Girls Auskick for the next AFLW sensations. This occurs at the same time and location.

Strathalbyn FC Auskick Coordinators are Aaron Martin, Bjorn Wagenknect, & David Vaderzon and they can be contacted at aaron@aaronmartinconstruction.com.au, bwags@adam.com.au & david.vanderzon@sapowernetworks.com.au.

Our Junior Football Coordinator, Phil Eatts, is also available to answer any questions you might have about AusKick or Junior football at the Strathalbyn Football Club. You can contact Phil on 0429 363 922 or p.eatts@icloud.com

We are pleased to announce that Auskick registration is now open BUT sadly the title of our centre with Auskick hasn’t been changed.

Auskick in 2021 will run on FRIDAYS

The Auskick registration does show this in the registration process however the title of our club has (Wednesday) in it still from last year.

We have contacted SANFL and the AFL to get this corrected but they are short staffed and haven’t changed this as yet.

We understand the AFL has emailed previous Auskick parents to announce registrations are open but we have held off announcing until this error is corrected.

We need to clarify this however at this stage while we wait for the AFL to correct.

So, you can find our Strathalbyn Centre listed on the Auskick website and you can register BUT please note that Auskick will run on Fridays.

Sorry for the confusion. We are working hard to get this corrected.

Thanks again Auskick families for your patience as we have worked through the Covid 19 situation.

Strathalbyn Football Club has decided not to run any of the Auskick programs for season 2020. We know there are a stack of budding young footballers who will be devastated but trust 2021 Auskick will see full football across all the grades and ages returning again.

If you registered and would like a refund please contact aflauskick@afl.com.au.
Hope to see you out in 2021.

The SFC would like to provide its valued players, members and supporters the following update regarding Community Football in 2020. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Club Secretary – Josh Pegler via email at secretary@strathfootyclub.com.au

As always, we will continue to provide you any additional updates when they become available.

SANFL update: SANFLW, SANFL Juniors, AFL Auskick &
Community Football

SANFL today announced the postponement of the 2020 Statewide Super Women’s League until May 31 and strongly recommended that all Community Football competitions across South Australia also be postponed until that date.

In addition, SANFL has postponed National Pharmacies SANFL Juniors and NAB AFL Auskick until May 31.

The 2020 SANFL U16 Torrens University Cup, which commenced two weeks ago, has been cancelled.

Today’s decision is consistent with the earlier postponement of the men’s Statewide Super League and state talent programs as a measure to reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus.

SANFL CEO Jake Parkinson said the health and well-being of fans, players, umpires, officials and communities has been the number one priority throughout this decision-making process.

He said SANFL Club CEOs were supportive of the League’s decision to postpone the Women’s League competition, due to play Round 5 this weekend.

In line with a national decision on Community Football by the AFL, SANFL is strongly recommending that all affiliated leagues in SA cease any play until May 31, including training.

SANFL will continue to review these decisions based on the changing circumstances and advice from government and relevant health authorities.

“The recommendation to all affiliated leagues was collectively agreed upon due to the nature of shared public facilities across community football clubs and the health and safety of football’s volunteer network,” Mr Parkinson said.

SANFL is continuing to work with all affiliated Community Football leagues to provide ongoing support during this extremely challenging time.

ENDS

Due to having high numbers of over 150 boys and girls in the Auskick program and 30 children in the U 8’s in 2019, SFC, in consultation with SANFL, will be making changes to the Auskick program.

SFC will be offering Auskick Pro (mixed). This is a new category to cater for 7 plus years (turning 7 in 2020) who have completed Auskick at least once previously. It is optional and for those looking for a longer and more football focused program leading into Modified Rules. Auskick Pro will run for 12-14 weeks during Terms 2 and 3 and break over school holidays. Auskick Pro will reduce the size of Auskick groups to enable maximum participation.

Mixed and All Girls Auskick girls will be for 5-12 years old and run for 8-10 weeks during Term 2.

Auskick registrations will open on February 17^th 2020 www.play.afl/auskick

The Modified Rules U8’s group will be for children turning 8 in 2020 and registration will open on Sunday 2nd February. This is part of the Saturday football program.

SFC junior programs ensure participating boys and girls have a fun, safe and positive experience that is suitable to their needs.

Evening / days that Auskick will be conducted will be up to individual coordinators. Anyone wanting to be a coordinator or be involved with Auskick please contact SFC.
